It was a real experience, although it took a whole day preparing and a whole day recovering.
The new life we lead in the land of the sun and sand. Please leave comments, it's so nice to hear from friends and family.

Camping in the dessert - finally!
Finally it was time to go camping in the dessert. Jonathon was overexcited and I was overpacking...well you never know what can happen in the dessert. Better to be prepared for anything, like scorpion bites, stomache sickness (a whole package of nappies), cold weather, rain, heat, hunger (the amount of food was ridiculous). Think I made pasta sallad for 30 people. Anyway, we had a great time, but I didn't sleep a wink. At one point I was sure there was an animal outside the tent, a camel most likely. In the morning we saw a whole hord of Oryx antilopes, absoloutley amazing, so it was probably them in the night as well.
It was a real experience, although it took a whole day preparing and a whole day recovering.
Setting up the tents was a real team-building exercise...or marriage-breaking in some cases...Jon thought I was being very selfish drinking gin & tonic while he was setting up the tent. I really couldn't understand him...
